Original programme for the Dedication of Marple War Memorial Park & Historical Pageant, illustrating events in the life of Marple from early times Saturday 22nd July 1922. Donated by Edmund Wilkinson 1994.
The programme has a page dedicated to the names of all those shown on the war memorial. It lists the route of the pageant procession from Market Street at 2.45p.m. via Hawk Green to Memorial Park, the speakers, the words of the hymns and songs, the evening programme with folk, maypole and national dances, a school scene and a dramatic episode - the trial of Charles I. Several pages are devoted to the history of Marple from feudal times to the present day by Arthur Hulme.
